Our history
On 6 May 1969, the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences established the Committee for Research and Forecasts "Poland 2000", whose aim was to initiate systematic studies on the future in the scientific communities of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In the initial period, the Committee undertook work primarily on social problems concerning the shape and ways of life of the future society. After 1989, as the Forecast Committee "Poland in the XXI Century", he fundamentally changed the methods and forms of his activity. Currently, the Forecasting Committee "Poland 2000 Plus" conducts multi-variant (scenarios) studies on the future, strives to answer the question in which areas changes in social and economic life may take place in the period covered by the analysis.
Our tasks
The aim of the studies conducted in the Committee is to identify:
* Global trends occurring on a global scale, especially those that may affect the situation in Poland.
* New phenomena and processes occurring in the country, which will affect the shape of Polish society in the long term and determine its place in the international community.
* Opportunities and threats for the future.

At the same time, the Committee conducts a wide popularization campaign, including among young people (students, doctoral students, journalists, etc.) in order to increase interest in the future in Polish society.
